Placemaking Action Week is a movement of people like you.

We are excited to announce that Porch Placemaking Week will now be known as Placemaking Action Week!

The objectives of the project are two-fold:

• To encourage small actions in local neighbourhoods that promote community connection.

• To share existing placemaking projects from across the globe.

It is about celebrating placemaking in all shapes and forms.

This new name will allow us to become a global public-facing week of action to complement regional placemaking activities and conferences.

The original Porch Placemaking initiative arose in 2020 whilst the majority of the world was in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to encourage social connection whilst maintaining social distance. Over the past two years we’ve seen amazing impact across the world. 265 porch projects across 24 countries positively impacted an average of 45 people per project.

We are excited to continue growing the placemaking movement during Placemaking Action Week from the 3rd to the 9th of October 2022.
